For which apprenticeship positions or degree programmes can I apply?

What makes Fenthols an interesting training firm?

You will experience varied and responsible routines in all of our training professions. You will learn all about the various transport modes – by land, water and in the air.

  • Varied and future-proof apprenticeship with very good prospects for a full position after graduation
  • Pleasant colleagues & fellow apprentices
  • Additional training (e.g. internal seminar programme)
  • Payment of school textbooks
  • Contribution to class trips
  • Opportunity for an internship abroad
  • Company celebrations
  • Fruit days

Is there a person I can go to if I have difficulties?

Yes, you will be assigned an apprenticeship mentor from day one who will help you with any issues – especially in the first few months. What's more, the training officer in the respective department to which you are assigned will look after technical questions.

Is there an opportunity to work abroad?

Yes, that is possible. Our collaboration with the HR leasing firm ARBEIT UND MEHR means you are eligible for financial assistance to complete a four to six-week assignment with one of our forwarding partners elsewhere in Europe. Acquire valuable international experience!

What about the working hours?

Your workday as an apprentice lasts eight hours. Commercial apprentices start between 7:30 am and 9:00 am. The warehouse division works in shifts: The early shift begins at 6:00 am, the late shift at 1:00 pm.

How often do I receive feedback about my performance?

You will pass through several departments during your apprenticeship and will remain in each one for between three and six months. The head of department will meet with you for a performance review shortly before the end of each phase. In addition, our Training Manager will discuss your development with you in regular intervals. This way she is able to assign you to positions that suit your strengths and interests.

Can I receive additional training?

Yes, you have the opportunity to complete additional training during the apprenticeship, both internally and externally. You can choose from a range of interesting offers: for instance business English, Office courses (MS Excel, MS Excel) and seminars in hazardous goods or customs clearance.

How much time do I spend at college and in the company?

That depends on your apprenticeship profession and when it begins. Ask our Training Manager for more information.

Will I be given leave to revise for an examination at college?

Of course.

Our apprentices

Gülcan K., 2nd course year, apprentice forwarding and logistics services agent

"I was always looking for a company where I could acquire technical skills and develop as a person as well. And that's precisely what I found at Fenthols! For instance, next year I will have the opportunity to complete an internship abroad, and I'm already looking forward to it immensely! It will be an unforgettable life experience ..."

Timon Sch., 3rd course year, apprentice forwarding and logistics services agent

"I liked Fenthols from day one. It's down to the young team and the varied range of products. Lots of companies use many different transport modes, but very few of them can offer them from a single source. The apprentices do stints in lots of departments, which ensures a solid and versatile qualification. We have to take a fair amount of responsibility, which is a good way for apprentices to learn conscientiousness and self-confidence."

Fabian S., 1st course year, apprentice forwarding and logistics services agent

"The sense of being needed, the warm, family atmosphere among the staff and the variety of work make every day a special and eventful experience at Fenthol & Sandtmann. I really do feel part of the Fentol team!"

Max N., 2nd course year, apprentice specialist for warehouse logistics

"I find the daily routine of managing products in a 4,900 square metre warehouse stocked with all kinds of items, big and small, really enjoyable and exciting. The helpful and friendly colleagues ensure that I look forward to every day of my apprenticeship at Fenthol & Sandtmann."

Christian H., 1st year, apprentice truck driver
